What kind of Security do I need for my home computer?
With both of these installed on your computer the average computer user really won’t have much to worry about. The ONLY 2 Paid Anti-Virus programs I recommend are Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 and Symantec End-Point Anti Virus. The rest are just JUNK! Here’s a partial list of Anti-Virus programs I DO NOT RECOMEND installing.
Avast, AVG, Avira, Bit Defender, Comodo, ESET, McAfee, Norton 360, Vipre, Panda, Trend Micro, and Windows Defender. The main reason I don’t endorse these programs is they slow down your computer. I would be OK with an Anti-Virus program that slowed down my computer if I knew it was stopping all the viruses from infecting my computer. But all of these have let Viruses and Trojans get downloaded on customers computers and then I had to work on them.
For all of you using a Free Anti-Virus program you’re not getting protection! I have had so many computers come in with just the free Anti-Virus and their computers were so full of Trojans and Viruses that the computers would not even work. The free Anti-Virus programs are just a scam to get you to upgrade to their paid Anti-Virus programs. They offer hardly any protection.
Now if you’re one of those people that were using the free Anti-Virus or no Anti-Virus at all and were doing this for some long period of time, you won’t just be able to install a paid Anti-Virus and have the computer running fast again. The Windows Registry will be all corrupted and the Operating System will always be sluggish. At this point it will be time to bring it in and get the Operating System Reinstalled.
